Shopping Trip for School Supplies
Friday 10 September 2021 an exiting day for Ranciel, Ranier and Liwani, but also for us at it is the first time we are present in the actual shopping for the school package.
At 11.00am we meet with Mariela (Big Lees wife) in front of La Tienda Jimenez in the centre of Puerto Plata. Mariela shows us what it take to do all the shopping.
Every kid get:
- Pants
- Sport pants
- Shoes
- Sport shoes
- 2 yellow T-shirts
- Underwear
- Belt
- Socks
- Backpack
- Notebooks
We have a lot of respect for Mariela who is doing this for more then 40 kids and also a thank you to the girls from Tienda Jimenez in Puerto Plata, who are very helpful.
Haircut
As Ranciel is the child sponsored by us (Elvis Tours) we decided to give him and his brother Ranier a haircut as well, to be ready for school next week. Ranciel was very quiet he didn’t say much. We thought omg what did we do, this boy is not happy with his new haircut at all. Finally he told us what bothered him. He was hungry, it was lunch time and shopping makes hungry.
Lunch
They returned home very happy and excited to go to school again on 20 September 2021. Next week we will continue shopping for more kids.
